"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired be vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime" -
Mark Twain
It all coalesced when…
Summer 2009, Jennifer and I were traveling to Hawaii, a place I had not been since I was a youngster. Leading up to the trip I decided to buy a new digital camera, my first foray into digital SLR's. I had used film cameras in the past while our son grew up, mostly taking pictures of family trips to Lake Tahoe. Now the anticipation of the tropical paradise and all of the photo opportunities there reignited my passion for taking pictures of the natural world... I have never looked back. Travel has opened me up to our incredibly intricate world. My love of nature had found an outlet, a way to express the beauty that surrounds us if we just leave our comfort zone and explore just over the horizon.
